We have designed/built quite a few photographer sites over the years. But, we took KC's site one step further: making a curated portfolio of work that is easily updated from any device on-the-fly.
KC Kratt is well recognized in the Western New York area—and well beyond—for his ability to capture amazing images of people, architecture, food and landscapes.
He is the go-to guy for many agencies, and even shoots for a local cultural magazine. To say that he is a busy guy is an understatement.
We had been kicking around the idea of a new website for KC with our good friend (and great designer) Alan Kegler for a VERY long time. And we finally dug our heels in and pushed to make it a reality.
That was 2005.
Since then we have created a few newer iterations—going from the initial Flash-based website, to a more universally viewable HTML-based site, to a responsive-content manageable site, to the newest optimized version running our custom content management system (CMS): We call it Infinitus.
The new site is a streamlined delivery vehicle for KC's wonderful images—providing an easy-to-update portfolio for his work, within a responsive design layout (meaning the site modifies the display of the content based upon the user's screen size). And it sports a fully customizable set of "info blocks"—allowing each page layout to be modified to follow a unique layout (number of columns, image crop ratio, embedded video in multiple layouts, etc.) quickly and easily.
He even has the ability to create custom hidden collections of his work—allowing him to curate a gallery of images for a particular client or industry.
